It specializes in Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Assets, Real Estate and Dynamic Beta.
Albourne strives to be a sustainable company with three main goals: 1) Aspiring to be a multi-generational firm with broad internal ownership and a Partnership structure; 2) Treating our employees and clients fairly; and 3) Advocating for positive change for its benefit and for the alternative investment industry best practices have always been a defining part of who we are.
Albournes 600+ employees are in 11 offices globally, including London, San Francisco, Connecticut, Munich, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Toronto, Nicosia, Bahrain, and Bermuda. Albourne is proud of its flat structure with over 115 Partners, over 75 of whom are either share or option holders.
The Team:
The Middle Office team produces one of Albournes core research reports Legal Document Diligence (LDD) which assesses risk as it relates to the legal terms of the agreement between investment managers and investors. The LDD report helps Albourne clients make an informed investment decision.
Middle Office performs an analysis of the funds governing documents, which outline hundreds of terms that investors will be bound to should they choose to invest. We translate the dense legal language into a readable summary for our clients, assess whether the terms represent market standard and best practice, and provide recommendations and strategies for negotiation in instances where we identify terms that could be improved.
After delivery of the LDD report, the Middle Office team also assists clients in the subsequent terms negotiation process with investment managers. When our clients move forward with an investment, we also assist in completing the additional set of legal documents necessary to subscribe to a fund.
The role is dynamic and involves frequent liaising with investment managers, fund counsel, fund administrators and Albournes diverse clients. We collaborate across the Middle Office team, which is comprised of 13 professionals globally, as well as other departments within Albourne.
Albournes Middle Office Internship Program is an exciting opportunity for undergraduate students to get a head start in their finance career by joining a global investment consultant while working in our Middle Office function.
