Description
The successful candidate, under the guidance of a team leader, will gain a detailed understanding of LAV logistic support through experience in this role. Training for this role includes, but is not limited to, overview of fielded logistic support LAV system and operation, level of repair, spare part procurement recommendation and vehicle design process.
Day-to-day activities include:
- Assess system, sub-system and component designs used or proposed for use on the Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) Family of Vehicles, with respect to Reliability and Maintainability requirements
- Perform Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) on proposed vehicle concept designs
- Create and quantifiably analyze reliability and functional block diagrams that reflect the proposed design
- Identify the optimum component repair policy by performing Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
- Proactively work with design engineering to ensure Reliability and Maintainability issues are raised and addressed during the design phase
- Prepare material and present at design reviews and logistics engineering assessment reviews
- Analyze test and field failure data for input into design trade-offs and in support of fielded fleets
- Develop Residual Useful Life (RUL) models for LAV components based on physics of failure, in-service maintenance and automotive CAN bus data
Who You Are
Working towards University Degree in a technical discipline
Experience working with python code, database familiarity
- Electrical or mechanical aptitude
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality documentation
A bias for working independently in a collaborative environment
Willingness to learn technical skills as part of a highly skilled team
An openness to learn something new every day
Ability to travel (5% Canada or 5% US & Intl) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
