Shift Information: At least 3 days a week in office, 9AM to 5PM, up to 24 hours a week
Sony Music Canada carries on the Canadian operations of Sony Music Entertainment, a global recorded music company with a roster that includes both Canadian and international artists, as well as a vast catalogue that comprises some of the most important recordings in history.
The Creative Services team is responsible for designing and developing a wide range of materials to support our artists' brands around the world. We are looking for an exceptional intern to join the team on a short-term basis. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to observe and assist in the day-to-day activities of the team, including, but not limited to:
- Collaborate with the Creative Services team to conceptualize and design digital assets for domestic and international repertoire, websites, and social media content.
- Translate design concepts into user-friendly interfaces with a focus on UX/UI principles and best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of front-end web solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies.
- Support the maintenance and optimization of the website, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and design tools to enhance creative processes and outcomes.
- Other ad hoc duties as per department needs.
Ideal Candidate:
- A well-rounded portfolio showcasing creative projects, including web design, user interfaces, and coding samples.
- Enrolled in a post-secondary or training program with a focus on Graphic Design, Web Development, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proficiency in UX/UI design principles, with experience using design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Sketch, or Figma.
- Strong coding skills with proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with WordPress, Shopify, and WCAG compliant practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Proactive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of the Canadian music landscape including record labels and independent artists.
