Position Summary

The Employment Platform team at EarnIn is at the forefront of innovation, responsible for critical services used across all product teams. We are dedicated to developing sophisticated algorithms and machine learning models to predict income and expand the reach of our Earned Wage Access (EWA) service. As we navigate through rapid business growth and increasing complexity in logic, we are on the lookout for an intern who will focus on understanding our business logic and systems and contributing to the development of crucial features and a robust automated testing framework. This role is an 8 to 12-week summer internship for 2024, adopting a required hybrid work model from our Vancouver office. Pay for the position will be 30 CAD/Hour and our salary ranges are based on role, location, and level.

What You'll Do

Joining our team, you will:

Collaborate closely with backend and machine learning engineers across various teams to deepen your understanding of systems and business logic
Design and implement an automated testing framework to guarantee the reliability of our Employment systems, facilitating seamless integration with both upstream and downstream services
Gain hands-on experience with a wide array of technologies including AWS, Kafka, Kubernetes, etc

What We're Looking For

We are seeking candidates who are:

Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Keenly interested in backend and machine learning systems, and eager to delve into complex business logic
Motivated to explore distributed systems on cloud platforms and passionate about constructing automated tests
Equipped with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented, with a meticulous approach to problem-solving and project execution
Committed to taking ownership of projects, conducting thorough investigations, and driving initiatives to conclusion
Based in or willing to relocate to Vancouver, Canada for the duration of the internship and be hybrid a day or two each week
