About The Role

Exergy is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented summer intern to join Exergy’s Innovative Manufacturing team. This role will be based at our Nexus facility, also known as an engineer’s playground. The successful candidate will help improve operational efficiencies by assisting in the documentation of essential procedures and development of operational checklists and maintenance schedules for our 3D printing machines. This may also include 3D CAD to aid in improvements to the shop and equipment. Additionally, the intern will contribute to enhancing our heat treatment furnace capabilities to improve our service offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Document standard operating procedures for AM machines.
  • Create and update checklists for daily operations and maintenance schedules.
  • Implement inventory management improvements for AM materials and consumables.
  • Assist in the development and testing of process improvements for operation of vacuum heat treatment equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement new features and improvements to existing processes and equipment.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and provide updates on project progress.

Qualifications

Candidates for this position will have:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in additive manufacturing and industrial equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with engineering software tools.
