Internal Control Manager Motion Netherlands and Belgium
In this position you are part of the global Internal Control Team and you will report to the Business Area Internal Control Manager Motion. Your role will be to help the business write the future of an integrated process and internal control system that supports the Motion Business’ strategy and activities.
You will guide and support the Motion organization and management but especially Country Holding Officer, Business Controllers, Business Process Owners, Control Owners and Control Performers to drive the process and control strategy, strengthen the overall control framework, improve and optimize process and control design and drive compliance with ABB’s internal control requirements.
Your responsibilities
- Support the respective Controllers and the Country Holding Officer in reaching their targets regarding Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICoFR) including identification, review and follow ups on the status of ICoFR and remediations.
- Prepare action plans for improvements of the internal control framework in cooperation with the respective Controllers, the Country Holding Officer, Process and Control Owners and Global Business Service organization. Support and follow up on implementation of actions.
- Drive to enhance the transparency, knowledge and maturity level in the business regarding risk and control and the recognition of the benefits of controls, process understanding and the interfaces to other risk management activities in order to maintain a robust control environment.
- Drive the adherence to and local implementation of all relevant aspects of the ABB Governance Framework especially including Corporate and Business Policies, Authorization Tables set by Corporate and Business Areas and Segregation of Duties Framework.
- Support and drive implementation of process and control design enhancements to standardize processes and controls (in coordination with Global Finance Process Owners) to simplify and rationalize the control environment.
- Support the Country Holding Officer in ICoFR responsibilities including relevant fiduciary duties.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent qualification. Masters’ degree is a plus.
- Professional qualification equivalent to CPA/CIA is an advantage.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in finance, audit or internal control related areas, preferred in a multi-dimensional global organization.
- Good business knowledge and working experience in the area of process improvements.
- Solid understanding of internal controls methodology, practices and US GAAP.
- Solid understanding of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Good project management and coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both internally and externally.
- International business exposure is an advantage.
- Fluent in English language (spoken and written); additional language Dutch would be an advantage.
