Position Summary
We are looking for a Product Development Intern to join us for 4 months, starting in May 2024.
This position will be based out of our Florenceville, NB location.
You will work as part of a team on a variety of product development projects and gain exposure to the phases of the product development process.
The Team
The intern will be part of our North American Product Development team. The Product Development team designs and develops exciting new products such as fries, pizza pockets and desserts for retail and food service customers.
What You Will Be Working On
Creating and testing product formulations at benchtop and lab scale to create new products or reformulate existing products
Pilot line and factory testing to assess the scalability of benchtop formulations
Testing and validating product attributes and shelf life
Collecting data and reporting on each testing phase in the development process
What You Will Learn
You will learn experimental design and formulation development as well as how to scale up from bench-scale testing to finished products. In the role, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with different functions within the organization and receive mentoring from experienced product developers.
What You Need to be Successful
Undergraduate student in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field
Organized and detail-oriented
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
