Position: R&D Technologist Intern Reports to: Product Development MangerLocation - Abbotsford, BC (On-site required)
We are looking for a R&D Technologist Intern to join our R&D team! Our R&D Technologist will help develop new products, conduct research, and experiments, coordinate and support full-scale production testing, and so much more!

Knowledge & skills
You have working knowledge of the structure and chemistry of food and standard food production processes
You have a working knowledge of R&D processes
You understand formulations and how to manipulate formulas to derive data
You understand food microbiology principles, typical spoilage organisms, and control strategies
You have solid computer skills including MS Office Suite
Experience
You are a 3rd year student or further in a college/university program in Food Science, Food Biotechnology or related discipline
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Nice-to-Have
R&D experience in a food production facility considered an asset
Hands-on baking experience is a bonus
things you will do…
Support product development activities in different stages of commercialization with the project lead
Lead lab testing of ingredients and formulas to solve technical problems
With Supervision from R&D Technologist or Scientist, conduct experiments and coordinate full-scale production testing
Develop new test methods for products and troubleshoot technical and production challenges
Maintain comprehensive records of formulations, results, and recommendations
Lead organization of lab and raw materials & build solutions for easy adoption across the team
