The Prosthetics and Orthotics Department (P&O) offers two areas of service including prosthetics and orthotics. Patient care in both areas is provided following a written referral from a physician and with cooperation with other members of the healthcare team. These services are provided for both inpatients and outpatients from the Hamilton-Wentworth area and from surrounding regions.

The Orthotics Intern duties include assessment, measurement/casting, cast modifications, orthosis design and fitting, and follow-up of patients. The Orthotics Intern will work under the supervision of a Certified Orthotist in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC).

1. Completed Clinical Methods in Orthotics and Prosthetics program at George Brown College or equivalent program that is Accredited or Approved by Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC)
2. Registered or eligible for registration in the Residency Program of OPC
3. Demonstrated technical and clinical skills in Prosthetics and Orthotics profession
4. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Employee Health Services.
