Job Description
The Total Fund Management Department:
In Total Fund Management ("TFM"), we are building the capabilities to enable a consistent framework for the long-term management of the firm's investment strategy. TFM consists of seven groups: Active Investment Management, Exposure, Leverage, and Liquidity Management, Portfolio Design and Construction, Research, Enhancements, and Models, Trading, Total fund Management and Strategy and Operations.
The
Exposure, Leverage, and Liquidity Management (ELLM) team is responsible for the management of the total Fund’s Equity and Fixed Income Balancing Portfolios and balance sheet and works in partnership with all groups across TFM. ELLM is currently recruiting portfolio management interns in the team from
September to December 2023. Candidates in an undergraduate co-op program or non-co-op program who will be graduating in April 2024 or later are eligible to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitating day-to-day portfolio management and financing execution activities on the desk such as risk analysis, profit- and-loss attribution and other analysis.
- Developing proprietary analytical tools and algorithms.
- Ad-hoc projects analyzing and making recommendations on topic such as portfolio management, trading, market structure and financing opportunities.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will be graduating from an undergraduate program in April 2024 (or later) and is working towards a degree in a STEM or business field.
- The team works in a dynamic interactive environment which requires the candidate to have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in finance/investment management.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- A plus if you have experience with some programming languages (such as C++/Java, R, VBA, Matlab, or PYTHON) or managing databases (MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle) Candidates must exemplify CPP Investments’ guiding principles of high performance, integrity, and partnership.
