The opportunity: The Intern, Investment Management (Portfolio Management), will work extensively members of the Investment Management Group in Vancouver and Toronto. The Intern will be primarily responsible for providing analytical support to the team and will gain broad and invaluable exposure, and relevant work experience in Real Estate Investment Management and Portfolio Management.
What you will do: The role will encompass a range of tasks, including but not limited to portfolio analytics, market research, data validation and client services reporting.
- Portfolio-level analysis, including property type and geographic diversification, gross revenue by tenant and industry, lease maturity schedules and leverage analysis
- Property-level data validation, including lease and vacancy analyses, market value summaries, net operating income and expense analyses, and other related data management tasks
- Prepare responses to Request for Proposals and Due Diligence Questionnaires, as well as other information requests received from external consultants and investors
- Provide support and analysis in the preparation of research contents such as slides, graphs, investment memos and other client communication publications.
Who you are:
Undergraduates or graduates from either a commerce, finance, or engineering degree. Preference will be given to candidates with a portfolio management or real estate specialization.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and project management skills are essential
- Relationship Skills – Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; team player
- Organizational Skills – Ability to allocate one’s time effectively and work under pressure; ability to prioritize workload; ability to work at a detailed level; willingness to learn in a dynamic environment that includes new ideas and change
- Computer Skills – Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office programs, and a natural curiosity and intuitiveness for learning new applications
- Police Clearance: A criminal verification check is required for employment.
