Job Summary: The Production Coordinator Intern is responsible for the smooth operations of the production cycle on a daily basis. The Production Coordinator Intern will translate Client expectations into production requirements to ensure optimal customer service and product quality. Liaison between departments, vendors, sales and production to ensure optimal communication and output.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Production Operations
- Coordinate and track production activities and schedules, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget
- Communicate project status to stakeholders and escalate issues as needed
- Assist in the preparation of production reports, including status reports, production schedules, and project budgets
- Participate in production meetings to discuss project status, identify issues, and propose solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including creative, technical, and operations staff, to ensure that production activities are aligned with project goals and objectives
- Help identify opportunities for process improvement and propose solutions to streamline production activities
- Coordinate workflow according to workload to meet delivery schedule and to complete assigned jobs.
- Maintain production control records and provide information to sales representatives, customers and management with regard to delivery dates, schedules and operating problems.
- Coordination of all jobs/work orders.
- Monitor quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all orders to ensure customer commitments are met through production of high quality material that meets customer delivery expectations.
- Coordinate with department contacts during all aspects of the order through creative, prepress, production, fulfillment and shipping, including managing returns.
- Communicate any problems that prohibit the completion of the project to the Production and Customer Service Supervisors and/or Department Supervisor.
- Manage and attend to customer complaints about jobs; investigate complaints and come to a fair resolution for customers.
- Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure job delivery.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Diploma or Bachelor's degree program in Print, Graphic Communications, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of all facets of print production which include but not limited to Press, Bindery, Large Format, and Graphics.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams with tactfulness and professionalism.
- Strong mathematical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Salesforce is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
