Human Resources Intern
Start Date: May, 2023 to August, 2023
Fully remote/ Co-op
Reporting to the Director, HR, the HR Intern will have an opportunity to learn, work alongside the ACCES HR team, and get involved with various HR functional areas, projects, assignments, and initiatives during their placement based on the Centennial College Internship program parameters. The successful candidate will work closely with the HR team to work towards ACCES HR team's goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support and assistance across all HR functions as needed by the HR Team, with main responsibilities in Recruitment
- Will help support HR actions and initiatives in alignment with ACCES’ Strategic Priorities
- Will be assigned ad-hoc projects and assignments throughout the duration of their internship. Areas of HR to support include but are not limited to:
- Recruitment Initiatives
- Talent Outreach
- Recognition Program administration
- HR Administrative support including timesheet auditing and tracking
- Learning & Development including coordination of events and recommended training for staff development goals
- Health & Wellness
- Research, etc.
- Will be provided an opportunity to be mentored, coached, and counselled by the HR team members at ACCES
Requirements
• In progress of completing a Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources or a related field.
• Strong team player, with the ability to collaboratively participate as an effective member of the HR team
• Positive, can-do attitude with an ability to "roll-up the sleeves" and work collaboratively with the team to reach the HR team's goals
• High level of professionalism and ability to identify, handle and safeguard confidential information with utmost discretion
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with respect to sensitive and confidential information and material
• Able to professionally call candidates in for interviews and/or pre-screening to assist with recruitment initiatives
• Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
• Able to work independently and be self-disciplined
• Able to work effectively in a team environment where priorities can change frequently
• Proficiency and/or understanding of navigating and data entry on HRIS or related systems an asset
• Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and has an aptitude to learn new software skills
Opportunities

• Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance HR programs and services and take on new responsibilities as assigned within designated hours of placement.
• May be assigned other duties not noted on this list including support of HR functions, projects, assignments, and activities.
