The Opportunity
School of Business is currently recruiting for a Student Research Intern
This intern position will be responsible for conducting secondary research, assisting in organizing and recruiting participants, and participant follow-up. This may involve participating in focus groups, semi-structured telephone interviews and other data collection methods. Other related tasks will include related secondary research, planning and administrative tasks associated with the project. The successful candidate will participate as a contract research intern to the School of Business faculty with a faculty research team. The nature of this casual contract position is on-call with an estimated 10-15 hours per week during the winter semester, and 20-30 hours during the summer. The term will conclude August 31, 2023.
The student can work from home with requirements for video/audio participation for project team meetings.
The Role
- Assist in the organization of trans-cultural communications workshops
- Collect and tabulate data from research participants
- Confirm accuracy of data collected and submit to project faculty.
- Perform secondary research and related project work as required
- Data entry and review
- Training and project orientation provided.
Qualifications & Experience
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the members of the research team and community contacts
- Demonstrated ability to ask questions and listen attentively with accuracy for detail
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent English verbal and written skills
- Proficiency in operating a laptop computer with various MS-Office applications
- Preference given to candidates with related research experience
