Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Planning Intern to be based in Winnipeg, MB.
This position is expected to begin in May 2023.

AECOM’s Winnipeg team is currently seeking a community or Urban Planning student to join our growing Buildings and Places team this summer.
You are a self-starter and are comfortable jumping in with both feet to new projects. You are not afraid to ask questions, work collaboratively and also work independently when required.
You will be involved in a range of projects, from Indigenous community development plans, master plans for municipal recreation and public works, and gathering, analyzing and reporting on community and stakeholder data.
Working with our Urban Planners and Designers, engineers and other technical specialists, yourresponsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate, liaise, and support community and stakeholder engagement and outreach.
- Monitor, log analyze and summarize internal and external stakeholder engagement.
- Support urban/community planning tasks such as site planning / analysis, land use, transportation, climate planning.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and other project related deliverables.
- Develop front facing, readable, well-designed communications materials.
- Work under supervision of a senior-level planning team member and support interdisciplinary project teams.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, or other planning related field is required.
- Due to the sensitive nature of work, Canadian Citizenship is required.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness in the province on project work.
- Great interpersonal skills including relationship building, and an ability to work collaboratively across integrated teams.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
- Excellent knowledge and experience working with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD /GIS.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop).
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD /GIS
- Experience working on First Nations /Indigenous/Northern Community Planning projects, and commitment to engaging with Indigenous ways of knowing
- Superior knowledge of Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
