Job Description
Full time internship (March – August) with a possibility of extention or permanency
In preparation of the launch of our 2023 production season, we are seeking a passionate, motivated and eager to learn Talent Acquisition Intern. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager and working closely with the Senior TA Specialist, your main responsibility will be to hire the best talent for some of our key production roles for our St-Hubert and Chambly plants while ensuring a great candidate experience. In this role, you will be part of a young, dynamic, talented and creative team and you will work closely with the extended HR Team and production hiring managers. You will lead the recruitment processes for entry level roles that will be assigned to you from the posting to onboarding stage. You’ll expand your career development by being part of a « sky’s the limit » culture driven by collaboration, out of the box thinking and data driven decisions.
A day in the life
Monday morning begins by check-in on the status of your open requisitions in the ATS and reviewing and rating the resumes you received during the weekend followed by the onboarding of two general laborers. You then make yourself a coffee while starting to schedule in person interviews for the candidacies that came during the weekend. While you are on a phone interview, you get notified of a new vacant role in the maintenance department. You will participate in the intake meeting with the Recruiter responsible for this role to listen in on the role and ideal candidate and strategies that will be used to attract. Monday afternoon starts with a brainstorming session to find creative ways of attracting and advertising a new job posting followed by a TA huddle involving the Canadian and US Team. You schedule some Focus time late afternoon to learn about existing passive tools and strategies. Your day ends with the best part of your job, you’ve gotten the go ahead from the hiring Manager to proceed with making 2 offers and both candidates accept on the spot! It’s only Monday, you can’t wait to see what the rest of the week will bring. Each day is different at Techo-Bloc and you will have the ability to have a real impact on the operations. In your role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Responsible to manage the full cycle recruitment process for entry level production roles;
- Manage a fast, efficient selection process, and successfully close new hires while developing solid relationships with hiring managers, business leaders, HR Business Partners and candidates;
- Ensure standardized processes, policies and templates are utilized;
- Complete background checks, present offers and onboard new employees;
- Promote a great candidate experience and promote the Employee Referral Program;
- Participate in developing and implementing new and creative methods to increase the quality and number of applicants, including new candidate sources;
- Source passive candidates using available corporate tool (if necessary).
Qualifications
- On site presence required for training, interviews and onboarding (Minimum three days a week);
- College degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field and experience;
- Excellent client relation, interpersonal and selling skills;
- interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build relationships and influence;
- Must be a “roll up your sleeves” type who is focused on achieving results;
- Proven multi tasking, organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Entrepreneurial, "Out of the Box" and innovative / Creative thinking.
