The Role
Work on cross functional teams with PM, Controls, manufacturing, and technicians to support and troubleshoot new and existing mechanical designs. Prepare 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, mechanical BOMs, safety documentation and various parts lists for use by other teams. Support mechanical builds, proof of principle assemblies and production machinery. Tesla is accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy. What You’ll Do
Responsibilities:
An intern within Mechanical Engineering may be working on projects related to the following:
- Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop processes, tooling, assembly fixtures and procedures
- Ability to create and manipulate mechanical drawings and bills of materials
- Be involved in supporting R&D
- Provide mechanical engineering support to fabrication and assembly technicians and project management personnel
- Facilitate and mediate communication between various departments, vendors, and customers
What You’ll Bring Requirements
- Currently working towards a BS, MS, or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program
- 3D CAD experience using Solidworks required
- Experience with AutoCAD an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- You must be self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment
- Professional and positive communication skills.
- Previous internship and/or project experience is a plus
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
