Overview
We’re seeking a Summer Intern who is passionate and knowledgeable about experiential brand marketing. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who works well in a fast-paced environment, loves to get their hands dirty, and who possesses the energy and desire to learn and absorb, to bring big ideas to life, and work with fun, smart people who give it their all.
This position will work in tandem with the Playbook Account Management Team to ensure seamless planning and execution of events. The summer internship offers hands-on experience planning and managing events, developing interpersonal and written communication skills, and being able to juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Support with the planning, production and execution of events, from large-scale events to small promotions.
- Assist the Playbook Account Team with event planning responsibilities including, but not limited to: site visits, vendor and supplier sourcing and management, meeting agenda development, printing and shipping supplies, event registration and promotion management, budget management, assisting with travel arrangements, booking promotional staff, and event reporting.
- Assist the Playbook Account Team with on-site duties including but not limited to: ensuring proper set-up and signage display, onsite promotional staff management, AV testing, supplier management, time management.
- Assist the Playbook Creative Development team by actively contributing to creative ideation sessions.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary event marketing or event management program.
- Experience working in event planning and project management is an asset.
- Superior oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in addition to general office hours when required.
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
- Willingness and availability to travel within/outside of Ontario or BC for events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in the alcohol beverage industry is considered an asset.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities to execute high quality deliverables.
- Computer proficiency in Google Software including Docs, Sheets, Meets, and Slides considered an asset.
- Computer skills with design software including Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and 3D design programs considered an asset.
- Social Media experience in brainstorming and planning social content considered an asset.
- Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization.
Requirements
- Driver's license with everyday access to a car, willingness to drive/travel and ability to work independently and autonomously.
- Ability to work from our Etobicoke/Vancouver office minimum 3 days a week.
