ABOUT OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
At Herschel Supply, our summer internship program is designed to provide an engaging and enriching learning experience for students looking to kickstart careers in our industry. As an intern, you’ll have the chance to explore the inner workings of a global lifestyle brand while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative and supportive environment. Through meaningful projects and mentorship opportunities, you’ll develop practical skills, expand your knowledge, and gain valuable insights into the industry.
ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE
As our 2025 Product Design Intern, you will report directly to the Product Design Manager, gaining exposure to product creation with a focus on design. You will collaborate with designers across different categories and work alongside individuals from various teams, including development, sourcing, and merchandising.
We’re looking for a driven individual who is passionate about developing their skills in product design. You will gain insight into how the brand moves through a season, from concept to finished goods. This hands-on experience combines creativity with technical skills, allowing you to acquire practical knowledge and deepen your understanding of the industry.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:
- Support the design team in brainstorming, drawing, and creating new ideas/concepts, ensuring they align with the brand's aesthetic.
- Conduct research on current fashion trends, fabric innovations, and market analysis to help inform design decisions.
- Assist with organizing design files and product samples and materials, creating mood boards, and maintaining the design creation space.
- Help with the construction and testing of initial product samples, ensuring quality and design accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of technical specifications and seasonal line plans
- Work closely with other teams, including development, sourcing, and merchandising, to ensure designs are developed according to timeline and budget.
ABOUT YOU
- Passion for product design, with a strong preference for an individual interested in the fashion, travel and lifestyle spaces.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to collaborate with a team, and convey ideas effectively.
- Currently studying towards a degree in fashion design, or similar, at a Canadian school is essential
- Competence in design software such as Adobe (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, and work on a variety of projects at once.
