For Computer Science (420) Full Stack Developer:
Bachelor’s or equivalent* degree in Computer Science or a related field;
Minimum of 3 years appropriate professional/industrial experience PREFERRED;
Several years related teaching experience at the post-secondary level PREFERRED;
Excellent English communication skills REQUIRED;
Some testing may be REQUIRED.
Bilingualism (English/French) and ability to teach in French are preferred, as in the context of Bill 96 and the changes to the Charte de la langue française, if there is a need, the candidate must be willing and able to teach in French.
Equivalent establishes a general comparison between two official education systems
In addition to above:
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR COURSE:
420-W18-AB Internship:
Experience supervising staff and/or student interns in an IT work environment;
Ability to collaborate with all program stakeholders to achieve the goals of the internship;
Experience teaching in the program in a post-secondary environment PREFERRED.
Responsibilities Related To Internship
Inform the Program Coordinator of any internship-related problems (CNESST, absences, psychological harassment, etc.)
Monitor, and evaluate students’ acquisition of the internship course competencies and provide relevant feedback
Ensure that tasks and duties assigned to interns are program-related and that the workload is appropriate
Communicate with the internship host supervisor regarding student progress and industry trends
Visit with the interns and their internship supervisor at the host company (on-site or virtual) for the purpose of evaluation
Submit to Program Coordinator an internship report at the end of internship (synopsis of placements, issues encountered, points of interest including trends in industry, etc.)

N.B. Contracts are contingent upon sufficient student enrollment in each course. Starting date, day/time and location for each course to be determined by the Centre for Continuing Education.
Note: In accordance with art. 4-4.04 of the Collective Agreement, the Selection Committee may, exceptionally, recommend to the College that pertinent additional professional and/or industrial experience be considered in lieu of the stated minimum educational requirement. Candidates to be considered under this option must have completed at least the equivalent of a DEC or AEC. Education superior to the stated minimum requirement may be substituted for professional/industrial experience at the discretion of the selection committee.
